Jac Joshua Baru

Mr. Jac Joshua Baru was appointed as an Independent Director of MRDC in April 2003. A Geologist by profession, Mr. Baru has been a consultant for a number of years. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and an Associate of the Institute of Engineer of Papua New Guinea. He holds a degree in Geology from the University of Papua New Guinea.

William Searson
Director
Mr. William Searson is the longest serving Director of MRDC, having been appointed to the position in 1983. He was a former Secretary for the Department of Mining and Petroleum. He is a private businessman and PNG Mining Consultant. He also serve on the Boards of NIL, Eurasia Pacific Rim Development Limited Tondo Ltd, and a member of other organizations in PNG.

James Neng Tjeong, CBE
Director
Mr. James Tjeong was appointed as a Director to the MRDC Board in 2004. Mr Tjeong has over 34 years experience in wholesale and retail trading, and his background extends to supermarkets and shipping. He is currently the Managing Director of Garamut Enterprise, Port Moresby Ltd. He has been a Board Member of Air Niugini since 2002, is now the Chairman of the Air Niugini Board having been appointed in 2006. Mr. Tjeong also holds directorships in other organizations.

Rendell Rimua
Director
Mr. Rendell Rimua was appointed to the Board in 2008 in his capacity as Secretary for Department of Petroleum and Energy. He also serves on the boards of Petroleum Resources Kutubu Ltd, Petroleum Resources Gobe Ltd, Petroleum Resources Moran Ltd and other statutory organisations in Papua New Guinea. An economics graduate from UPNG, Mr. Rimua holds a Masters degree in Petroleum Economics from the University of Dundee, UK.
