Augustine Sanga Mano

Managing Director

Mr. Augustine Mano was appointed Managing Director of the company by the MRDC Board in March 2008. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Mano was involved in setting up various landowner companies in Gobe Oil Project that provided services in civil construction, drill and blasts engineering, transporting, insurances, finance and investments. He has been involved with the petroleum industry and Department of Petroleum and Energy in various capacities in the last five years. Mr. Mano graduated from the University of Papua New Guinea with Degrees in Economics and Environmental Science and also holds a Masters Degree in Petroleum Economics from the University of Dundee, United Kingdom and serves as a Director on the Board of MRDC and its subsidiary companies, Airlines PNG, HeviLift, INSPAC and GFS.


Clifford Kasi

General Manager - Commercial Services

Mr Clifford Kasi joined MRDC in April 2009 as the General Manager - Commercial Services. He was formerly the Executive Manager - Finance & Administration for Pacific Equities & Investments, a fund management company which was the fund manager for Pacific Property Trust and Pacific Balanced Fund. He was also the Executive Director for Gearing Pacific Limited. Prior to Pacific Equities, Mr Kasi was a senior Auditor and tax accountant with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu. Mr Kasi who is a CPA Holder, graduated from the University of PNG with a Bachelor in Commerce (Accounting & Finance) and holds a Master of Law in International Tax from Leiden University in The Netherlands.

Mr. Chauka Chakumai joined MRDC in 2005. Mr. Chakumai held senior accounting positions with SP Brewery, Bougainville Copper Limited Savings and Loans Society, Nades and Associates, Nambawan Finance Limited, Orogen Minerals Limited, Oil Search Limited, and DRD Porgera Limited. Mr. Chakumai holds a degree in Accounting from PNG University of Technology.

Manager - External Affairs

Mr. Imbi Tagune, a petroleum industry veteran, worked for 12 years with Chevron Niugni from 1989 before joining MRDC in May 2001. Mr. Tagune is responsible for managing MRDC's public relations, including its relations with the landowners, government, provincial governments, project developers and other stakeholders. Mr Tagune holds a Bachelors degree in Communication Arts from the United States. He has a background in broadcasting, communication and public relations. He has held various senior positions with Chevron including Manager Corporate Affairs.

Lausi Meraveka

Mr. Lausi Meraveka joined MRDC in 2007 and is responsible for MRDC and Group of Companies treasury requirements, including management of various trust accounts, insurance matters, royalty and dividend distribution, debt servicing and Central Bank and Tax compliances. Mr. Meravaka, a professional accountant, has over 20 years experience working with oil and gas related companies such as Highlands Gold Limited, Orogen Minerals Limited and Highlands Kainantu Limited and Coffee Industry Corporation Ltd where he held senior accounting positions. He holds a Bachelors degree in Accounting from PNG University of Technology.

Mr. Joseph Taymen joined MRDC on August 2008 as Manager Technical Services. Prior to joining MRDC, he was a Principal Petroleum Engineer at the Department of Petroleum where he worked for over 17 years. He also had work attachments with Chevron & British Petroleum witnessing the first ever discovery of oil and gas fields and development of those assets. His vast experience in both the Government and technical industry had been complemented with Advanced Petroleum Studies in America in the 1990s, and obtained Post Graduate Diploma and Master of Science qualifications in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Technology, Western Australia. He is currently a member of the International Society of Petroleum Engineers and also a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Joyce Agaru

Manager - Legal Services

Ms. Joyce Agaru was confirmed as the Legal Services Manager in November 2010. Prior to that she was the Legal Officer dealing with various commercial and litigation matters and providing inhouse legal advice to the management and the Boards of MRDC and its subsidiary companies. She also took on the role as the Acting Company Secretary and Manager Legal Services. After being admitted as a lawyer in 1996, she worked with the Internal Revenue Commission, White Young and Williams Lawyers, National Fisheries Authority, then joined MRDC as the Legal Officer in December 2006. Ms. Agaru graduated with a Bachelors Degree of Laws(LLB) from the University of Papua New Guinea. She is a member of the PNG Law Society, the Badili Club of Papua New Guinea and is a Honorary Member of the Victorian Bar, Australia.

Ms. Angin Wape joined MRDC as the Company Secretary as of 08 November 2010. Prior to coming to MRDC, she worked with PNG Ports Corporation, Nambawan Super and Telikom PNG doing commercial, litigation, landowner and technical matters with the respective companies. Ms. Wape graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Law from UPNG and has been in practice as a lawyer for the last 13 years. She is currently a member of the PNG Law Society.
