MRDC GRANTS K20, 000.00 TO RENOVATE GEREHU POLICE STATION

Minerals Resources Development Company Limited (MRDC) announced a grant of K20, 000.00 to PNG Christian Community Services (PNGCCS) to renovate Gerehu Police Station in National Capital District.

PNGCCS is a community–based non-government organisation with an aim at empowering under privileged children focusing on displaced and orphaned children in Port Moresby. Also, the organisation has expanding it’s programme to work hand in hand with police force in supporting the “Operation Strongim Polis” project in the city and such programme is the renovation of Gerehu Police Station.

MRDC has recognised the initiative by PNGCCS in developing a detail maintenance plan after inspecting the up hauling conditions of the Gerehu Police Station. MRDC is happy to support this with our grant of K20, 000 .00 support the renovation work.

We encourage the partnership between community base organization and the police force as they all working together to curb and minimizing law and order especially in Gerehu City.

Although the cost of the renovation is so huge, we at MRDC hope that the company grant can assist, at least to commence the renovation work of the Gerehu Police Station, so that Police Officers can continue to conduct their normal duty while PNGCCS continues its efforts in the fund raising drive toward securing more funds to complete the project.

MRDC can do a little bit while others in the community may also want to come forward to assist the Gerehu Police Station to get it fully functional.

MRDC hopes that the grant can make some significant improvement at the station for all the hard working Police Officers who are tirelessly providing policing and community patrolling in Gerehu City, NCD.
