Mr. Murepe announced that from 2008, PRK through his Public relation fund will pay 50% of school fees while the parents pay 50% towards education of their children. The K88, 000.00 will cover for school fees of students from four impacted tribal groups namely Ikopi Kasel Pera (IKP), Rumu, Kibiri and Kerewo. The spreadsheet containing names of students were also handed over to the school administration.
Kikori Secondary School has classes ranging from grades 9 to 12 and accommodates students from Kikori, Baimuru, Ihu, Kerema, Kaintiba, Samberigi, Erave and also has students from other parts of Southern Highlands. The board and school management wants the school to resume computer classes soon and therefore asked Mr. Murepe and OSL for computer donations.
Petroleum Resources Kutubu (“PRK”) is managed by Mineral Resources Development Company (“MRDC”) and commits all public relations funds to each director every year.
