Mr. Augustine Sanga Mano was appointed the Managing Director & CEO of Mineral Resources Development Company in March 2008. Mr. Mano graduated with Degrees in Economics and Arts majoring in Environmental Science from the University of Papua New Guinea and holds Master of Science in Petroleum Economics from Dundee University, Scotland. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Mano was involved in the civil constructions, real estate, transport and insurance. He currently serves as Director on the board of MRDC, Mineral Resources Star Mountains, Mineral Resources Ok Tedi No. 2, Mineral Resources Ramu, Petroleum Resources Kutubu, Petroleum Resources Moran and Petroleum Resources Gobe. He is Chairman of the Pearl South Pacific Resort in Fiji, Star Mountains Plaza and Taumeasina Resort in Samoa. He is also serving as a Director on various company boards including Hevilift, PNG Air, Bank South Pacific and Ok Tedi Mining Limited.
Mr. John Tuaim joined MRDC in November 2010 and was appointed General Manager for Technical Services. Prior to this, Mr Tuaim worked with the Department of Treasury where he held several positions including Assistant Secretary to the Investment Branch of the Structural Policy and Investment Division. While at the Department of Treasury, he represented the Treasurer on the Finance Committee for the PNG LNG Project. Mr Tuaim also served on the Board of Water PNG (formally PNG Waterboard), Industrial Center Development Corporation (ICDC), National Roads Authority, Ok Tedi Mining Limited and Dirio Gas & Power. He was also a member of the Mining Advisory Council and Petroleum Advisory Board; he was Chairman of Lamin Trust and a Trustee Director for the Ok Tedi Royalty Trust.Mr. Tuaim holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics at the University of Papua New Guinea. He has a Masters in Project Management (Oil and Gas) from the University of Liverpool
Mr. Kevau Ganiga joined MRDC in 2014. Prior to his appointment, Mr Ganiga was the Finance Manager for the Oil Search Health Foundation and 2 years prior to that, he was the Finance Manager for Oil Search PNG Limited for over 5 years. He has over 18 years experience in all facets of petroleum accounting through to relevant commercial, legal and ERP interfaces from his previous tenure with Chevron Niugini and Oil Search. Kevau graduated from the University of PNG with a Degree in Commerce and also holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Deakin University, Geelong, Victoria. He is also a member of Chartered Practising Accountants PNG.
Mr. Richard Aupae commenced employment with MRDC as Manager Legal on 14 April 2014 and was appointed Company Secretary on 23rd April 2015. He holds a Bachelor of Law from the University of Papua New Guinea and was admitted to the Bar in 2005. He is also an accredited member of the Papua New Guinea Law Society. Prior to joining MRDC, Mr. Aupae worked with Kumul Consolidated Holdings Limited (formerly IPBC) as a commercial lawyer. He also served at the Principal Legal Officer with the Department of Treasury for 7 years, and has served the PNG judiciary as a Judges Associate from 2001 to 2007.In his various roles, Mr. Aupae has undertaken work relating to the legal aspects of economic policy, investments, project financing and financial accountability, public finance & service management policy and regulatory frameworks. He also has experience in commercial law in matters relating to investments, project finance service contracts and agreements, trusts, civil litigation and criminal law practice. Mr. Aupae furthermore volunteers in sports administration with AFLPNG as the Secretary to the Australian Football Commission of PNG Ltd.
Mr. Owen Makindi has more than 20 years’ experience in the Food Manufacturing and Banking & Finance services, of which 10 years in management levels. Mr. Makindi started his career with SP Brewery as a shift brewer and transitioned into Human Resources before joining ANZ Bank. He played an instrumental role in re-shaping and developing HR in both companies. His career highlights with ANZ include the Review of the Union Collective Agreement has also facilitated ANZ leadership & coaching programs within the pacific region. Mr. Makindi has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from UPNG and an MBA with the Torrens University of Adelaide, Australia. He is also a master trainer in the ANZ financial literacy program (Money Minded). He is a member of the PNGHRI, Board Member of Leadership PNG and is currently the Vice Chairman for Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in NCD. His passion remains in helping others succeed through training, coaching and mentoring. He continues to actively engage in voluntary work for Faith based ministries outside of work where he facilitates leadership and other programs in his spare time.
Mr. Imbi Tagune, a petroleum industry veteran, worked for 12 years with Chevron Niugini from 1989 before joining MRDC in May 2001. Mr. Tagune is responsible for managing MRDC's public relations, including its relations with the landowners, government, provincial governments, project developers and other stakeholders. Mr. Tagune holds a Bachelor degree in Communication Arts from the United States and has recently attained a Master of Business Administration with the Divine Word University in Madang, Papua New Guinea. He has a background in broadcasting, communication and public relations. He has held various senior positions with Chevron notably Manager Corporate Affairs. He held the position of Manager External Affairs position with MRDC prior to his promotion in early 2011 as General Manager.
