Mr. John Kapi Natto was appointed the Chairman of PRK in January 1996. Mr. Natto represents the Fasu landowners of Kutubu petroleum project and is Chairman of Namo’Aporo Landowners Association. He is the Managing Director of Kutubu Security Services Ltd, which provides security services to Oil Search operations in Kutubu. Mr. Natto is a teacher by profession and holds a Degree in Education from Hobe Sound Bible College, Florida, USA and a BA Hons degree in Education from the University of Papua New Guinea. He currently serves as a non-executive director on the Board of Bank South Pacific Limited.
Mr. Augustine Sanga Mano was appointed the Managing Director & CEO of Mineral Resources Development Company in March 2008. Mr. Mano graduated with Degrees in Economics and Arts majoring in Environmental Science from the University of Papua New Guinea and holds Master of Science in Petroleum Economics from Dundee University, Scotland. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Mano was involved in the civil constructions, real estate, transport and insurance. He currently serves as Director on the board of MRDC, Mineral Resources Star Mountains, Mineral Resources Ok Tedi No. 2, Mineral Resources Ramu, Petroleum Resources Kutubu, Petroleum Resources Moran and Petroleum Resources Gobe. He is Chairman of the Pearl South Pacific Resort in Fiji, Star Mountains Plaza and Taumeasina Resort in Samoa. He is also serving as a Director on various company boards including Hevilift, PNG Air, Bank South Pacific and Ok Tedi Mining Limited.
Mr. William Powi is serving his second term as Governor for Southern Highlands Province. He was elected into office in 2012 after serving in the Province as the Provincial Administrator. He holds a degree in Political Science from the University of PNG and a Master’s Degree in International Relations from the University of Waikato in New Zealand.
Mr. Christopher Haiveta is the Governor of Gulf Province. He sits on the board of PRK by virtue of his position as Governor.Haiveta first entered parliament in 1992. He has held various senior position in government since then, including serving as Deputy Prime Minister twice. He was leader of the Pangu Party between 1993 and 2002.
Mr David Manau was appointed to the position of Secretary for the Department of Petroleum and Energy in February, 2020. A position he held in an Acting role from 2016 to January 2017. By virtue of his current position Mr. Manau sits on the boards of Petroleum Resources Kutubu, Petroleum Resources Moran, Petroleum Resources Gobe, Gas Resources PNGLNG Plant limited and Gas Resources PNGLNG Pipeline Limited.
Manau was the Acting Assistant Director Petroleum Policy within the Petroleum Division of the DPE before his appointment to Secretary. He has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Papua New Guinea and a Bachelor Degree in Lands Studies (BLS), PNG University of Technology. Mr. Manau is a highly experienced professional in the Oil and Gas industry and brings with him years of expertise in state and landowner work.
Mr Abraham Murepe is a representative of the Kikori pipeline landowners in the Gulf Province. He was appointed to the PRK Board Board in 1993 representing the Gulf Pipeline landowners. Prior to his appointment he was a community leader. He is the Chairman of Kikori Oil Investments Ltd, a landowner company, and is a director of Gobe Freight Services Ltd.
Mr. Mark Sakai is a landowner leader of the Fasu people in the Kutubu Oil and Gas Projects. Prior to his appointment as a Director to the PRK Board, he was a business man and the founding Chairman of Trans Wonderland Limited among other companies he owned and run. Mr. Sakai completed his secondary education in Aiyura and has attended both University of Papua New Guinea and James Cook University in Australia. A veteran landowner in the Oil and Gas Industry, Mr Sakai has been instrumental during the initial benefit negotiations with the developers and the government to achieve better outcome for the Fasu and Kutubu landowners.
Mr. Johnny Yawari is the Chairman of Foe Association and represents Foe people of the Kutubu Petroleum Project. He was appointed Director to the Board of PRK in 2014. Prior to his appointment, Mr. Yawari was a successful businessman. He also serves on the board of Star Mountain Plaza Limited. Mr. Yawari is the current Patron of National Souths Basketball of PNG
